Hi again, I'm Catherine.
You can call me Cat! It is great to meet you! Currently, I am working as a Graphic Design Assistant for the Masters of Fine Arts Program at UC Davis↗. I grew up in San Jose, CA and am studying Cognitive Science and Design with a minor in Communications at UC Davis↗.
Growing up at the center of the Silicon Valley placed a large impact in my love for technology allowing me to develop a very large passion for the design aspects of the intricate digital realm. When I'm not studying or working on my latest projects, you'll likely find me at a cafe with a double shot Hojicha latte in one hand and an everything bagel with basil cream cheese in the other. If my laptop doesn't have multiple catalog spreads or Adobe Photoshop opened, you're most likely going to find the latest Bluey episode playing on one tab and Minecraft on the other side of my screen.

Things I've been up to
I’m currently collaborating with UC Davis’s MFA program to produce monthly newsletters for Design Program students and to develop an exhibition catalog showcasing current student work. Outside of academics, I’m involved in AggieWorks, a student-led organization that designs products for the UC Davis community. In this role, I’m part of the Moober↗ Design team, a ride-sharing platform that helps students travel to and from Davis at a more affordable rate than competing services.
Between June and November, I've interned at Birdhouse Fly Away, a nonprofit focused on empowering at-risk youth through workforce development, barrier reduction resources, and skill-building programs like the REPEAT initiative.
During my first year at UC Davis, I took apart of the Fellowship Design Sprint with Design Interactive, creating a UX/UI solution for on-campus dining, AggieRewards. I also went to my first hackathon and dozens of design conferences (can't wait to go to more!)
In high school, I founded my very own first small business, CatBox Studios, where I designed and produced original art crafts such as stickers, art prints, and hand painted gifts. This venture marked my step into the business world, expanding it over the past five years through the creation of over 60 logos and graphics for schools and small business. Additionally, I launched a successful seasonal hand-painted graduation cap business, completing over 100 custom caps for clients across the Bay Area.
